PERSONALITY
She is very different from other artists and is not afraid to be herself. Billie’s music is very deep and sometimes can be described as dark. The song was inspired by the film “Roma,” which is about the life of a domestic worker who resides with a rich family in Mexico City in the 1970s. She was inspired by the movie and had written the song “WHEN I WAS OLDER.”
What I have interpreted from the song is that she feels trapped under the water and is deathly afraid of something or someone. In the song she mentions dreaming of a place where they could still be best friends. In the song she blames herself for getting into a situation with this best friend and wishes they could go back to the way it was before.
This song relates to me personally because I have lost close friends and family over the years and I often look back to see if I could have done something different. It is in my personality to want to fix situations and relationships, however, sometimes that is not always the best thing. I extremely recommend the song because it is very soothing and meaningful.
My first memory as a child is going on vacation to Jamaica in the third grade. We had been on many vacations before this, but this in the only one I can remember from my childhood.
FIRST MEMORY
Two big events happened on this trip that I can fully remember. On the first day of the trip my sister and I both got stung by jellyfishes. Then a couple of days later, I had gone into the hot tub and I had gotten a heat rash due to how hot it was. After this second incident, I had to stay in the hotel room for the rest of the vacation.
This is probably my first memory as a child because it was a traumatic experience for me as a kid. Ever since I have not been a fan of tropical places.
